  • 1953
    Alfred Kristinus founded a company named Hellatürk in Austria with activity field “Import and Export of Metals”.
  • 1960
    Including of insulation materials in the product range.
  • 1965
    Changing the company name to “Baustoff + Metall”.
  • 1976
    Dr. Wolfgang Kristinus takes over management. The company has one outlet in Vienna, which achieved sales of 1 million euro.
  • 1978
    Including dry construction in the product range and starting cooperation with Knauf.
  • 1986
    Opening of the company’s second outlet in Graz, Austria.
  • 1992
    Opening of the first foreign outlet in Warsaw, Poland.
  • 1993 – 1995
    Starting new outlets in Slovakia, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
  • 1996
    Opening of the first four outlets in Germany.
  • 1999
    Starting own production of metal ceilings under the MCI brand.
  • 2000 – 2003
    Opening of new outlets in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia
  • 2005
    Bulgarian company “Marsil” Sofia became part of “Baustoff + Metall”. Start of the activity in Bulgaria under the name “Baustoff + Metall Marsil” OOD.
  • 2006
    Starting new outlets in Italy.
  • 2008
    The company has 65 outlets and 5 production sites in Europe. Dr. Kristinus was elected as Entrepreneur of the Year in Austria.
  • 2009
    Starting activity in Romania.
  • 2011
    Dr. Kristinus nominated two longtime collaborators for general managers: Robert Heckl – responsible for Austria; Christian Sperr – responsible for Europe (excluding Austria and Germany).
  • 2012
    The company has 85 outlets 7 industrial enterprises and 1350 employees in 14 European countries. The group turnover exceeds 500 million euros.
  • 2017
    Further growth in all markets. Turnover reached 690 million euro.
  • 2018
    Opening of the company’s 100 th outlet. This is 2 nd outlet in Brussels and 5 th in Belgium. The company has 2000 employees in 14 European countries. The group turnover exceeds 760 million euros.
